What I have learned from two weeks of action research . . .

After looking at action research I see it as the most constructive way to reflect upon and conquer problems I encounter in my everyday teaching of my students or new teachers and even in the various leadership roles I have in my building.

Action research gives educators the opportunity to reflect back on their working and findings in a structured way and really helps them see the result of their work.

I believe reflection is the one component of education that educators do not focus on enough. Now, it's not necessarily their fault. Think about it. TESTING! Enough said. However, it is at that level of awareness that we as humans and professionals grow the most. With a structured approach such as action research, perhaps we can all reallocate our time and reflect more.

  2. Action research has been extremely helpful for me during my new role as AVID Coordinator. I have become a better planner and able to forecast situations and potential (or hopeful) outcomes more accurately. It's a great skill to possess. :)
